Join Our Team:

We're seeking a passionate and adaptable Middle School Teacher to join our close-knit team. This role involves guiding a small cohort of students in grades 6–8, with a primary focus on science/math, while also supporting instruction across other core subjects as needed. We're open to splitting this position into part-time roles.


This position is ideal for someone who values experiential education, enjoys working in both classroom and outdoor settings, and is excited to collaborate within a mission-driven team.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging science and introductory robotics classes, emphasizing inquiry, experimentation, and real-world application to foster curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Support teaching in additional core subjects (such as math, or integrated studies) as needed; our partnership with Austin Community College also offers dual-credit courses for our oldest learners.
  • Design interdisciplinary lessons that connect STEM learning with nature, sustainability, and hands-on exploration to promote holistic understanding.
  • Lead outdoor learning experiences, including environmental studies, field-based projects, and model-building activities, to provide students with real-world learning opportunities.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through project-based learning and real-world applications.
  • Nurture students' social-emotional growth alongside academic development to foster well-rounded individuals.
  • Create a classroom environment rooted in curiosity, respect, and collaboration to promote a sense of community.
  • Provide instruction tailored to diverse learning styles and developmental needs to ensure inclusive learning.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow educators to deliver cohesive and meaningful curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Communicate regularly with families to support student growth and engagement, ensuring a strong partnership between home and school.
  • Participate in school events, community activities, and ongoing professional development to stay current and connected within the educational community.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching middle school students (Grades 6–8) to build on their passion for education and adapt to our unique learning environment.
  • Comfortable supporting instruction across multiple subject areas as needed (this is for a small classroom), demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
  • Passionate about nature-based education and outdoor learning environments to bring a unique perspective and enthusiasm to our team.
  • Enjoys hands-on teaching methods such as experiments, building, and project-based learning to engage students and foster curiosity.
  • Values holistic education, including emotional well-being and character development, to promote well-rounded students.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and growth-oriented mindset to thrive in our dynamic and supportive team culture.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.

This is a full time position (8a-4pm) but can be split between two educators as well.


Salary depending on experience, and connection with our model and program. We can be flexible for the most qualified and devoted Educator.
