About This Role
Based in North Conway, this support staff member opening at The Lilliputian School pays $18 – $24/Hr and requires completed early childhood education (ECE) college credits.
Located in the heart of North Conway, The Lilliputian School is a non-profit community school offering Timbernook programming year round in the Mount Washington Valley. Our 100% outdoor, nature-based enrichment program provides rich and meaningful play experiences for children 5-12 years old. As an Assistant Timbernook position, you will support the Lead Timbernook Teacher in creating a fun and safe environment for our participants. This role requires excellent communication, listening, and teamwork skills. You will spend most of the program outdoors, moving, hauling, and setting up play experiences in our nearby forest space. Staff must be able to walk up to a mile daily and lift heavy objects. There is also an opprtunity to work in our classrooms assisting the toddler and preschool staff in the afternoons. This part-time position offers 25 hours per week, with potential for additional hours.

- M/W/F 12:00-5:00
- T&Th 11:30-4:30

What You'll Do
- Support the Lead Timbernook Teacher in planning and executing daily outdoor enrichment programming for children 5-12 years old.
- Maintain a safe and engaging environment for children, observing and interacting with them during the program.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to transport children to and from the main campus to the forest space.
- Receive guidance and direction from the Lead Teacher and follow their lead in daily tasks.
- Ensure smooth transitions throughout the day and facilitate a seamless program.
- Clean and reset the forest space under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of Timbernook materials and equipment.
- Comply with all policies and state regulations.
- Develop and implement a personal professional development plan to enhance your skills and quality of work.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in expanding your knowledge of the Timbernook philosophy and its principles.
- Assist the Toddler and Preschool staff in the afternoons.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
- Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR training.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn the Timbernook philosophy.
- Must clear background record check.
- Must qualify as an associate level teacher under the NH child care licensing rules.
Nice to Have
- Experience in outdoor programming and working with children 5-12 years old.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and/or outdoor education.
