The Dogwood School of Chester is hiring for a support staff member role in Chester. Compensation is $20 – $25/Hr. Candidates need a willingness to earn a CDA, with full program support provided.
The Dogwood School is a well-established, play-based preschool in Chester, NJ, seeking a warm and nurturing Preschool Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
Our teachers inspire children ages 2–3½ through hands-on learning, meaningful relationships, and daily exploration in our beautiful outdoor classrooms. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, loves being outdoors, and is passionate about helping young children grow socially, emotionally, and academically through play.
This is a full-time position (8:00 AM–4:00 PM) from late August through early June, following the local school calendar. Summer employment is available but optional. Full-time employees are eligible for a 401(k). Compensation is $20–25 per hour, based on experience.
What You'll Do
- Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom.
- Plan fun, play-based learning experiences.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Work collaboratively with your teaching team.
- Supervise children indoors and in our outdoor classrooms.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
- Follow all health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- CDA or equivalent early childhood education experience required.
- Experience working with young children, preferably ages 2–3½.
- Warm, nurturing, and dependable.
- Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Enjoy spending time outdoors in all seasons.
- Experience with play-based learning.
- Creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
