About This Role
This support staff member position at Temple Chai Early Childhood Center in Scottsdale offers $18 – $19.50/Hr. The role requires a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, though it is preferred rather than required.
We're seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our Reggio Emilia-inspired Jewish preschool community as a teacher in our 2's program. Our program emphasizes child-led learning, creativity, relationship-based teaching, and meaningful connections to Jewish values, traditions, and community.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, reflective, and enthusiastic about creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that honor children's curiosity and individuality. Teachers work closely with children, families, and colleagues to create a supportive classroom environment rooted in exploration, inclusion, and social-emotional growth.
Candidates should have experience working with young children, strong communication skills, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning. Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia Approach and Jewish early childhood education is a plus.

What You'll Do
Responsibilities include:
- Offer support for children's social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Design and implement curriculum tailored to the educational needs of children.
- Plan engaging activities and experiences to foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
- Maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security standards.
- Comply with Arizona State licensing guidelines.
- Capable of lifting and carrying children (ages may vary from infants to 5 years old)
- Effectively communicate with parents through informal discussions, a parent-communication app, and parent-teacher conferences
- Collaborate cooperatively and respectfully with all team members.
Requirements
- Must clear a full background check.
- Must have graduated from high school
- Must be able to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card by AZDPS
- At least 6 months of prior experience in early childhood education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of child development and willingness to continue learning
- Ability to work well with others (staff, children, parents) and foster a team environment in the classroom.
- Flexible and dependable when it comes to scheduling.
Nice to Have
- Professional experience in childcare
- AA, BA, or master's degree in early childhood or a related field
- Ability to work over the summer
- Ability to work until closing time (5:30pm)
