The Teacher is responsible for leading a cohesive teaching team, curating engaging lesson plans, and overseeing the daily operations of the classroom. This role requires a deep understanding of child development to ensure a nurturing environment that sparks curiosity and promotes growth. Effective communication with children and adults is crucial to meeting the needs of the children, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving parental concerns.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curriculum through creative, age-appropriate activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
- Model excellence and foster team success by providing guidance and support to the teaching team.
- Design and lead interactive group and individual activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
- Establish open lines of communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom environment by adhering to proper hygiene and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to guarantee they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Keep accurate records, forms, and files up-to-date.
- Develop a personalized professional development plan to ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience in childcare.
- Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
- High energy and ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents to cultivate a positive team atmosphere.
- Comprehensive understanding of child development.
- Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
- Background check and health screening clearance.
- Frequent standing, walking, hand use, and object manipulation may be required. May also involve kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
- Able to see up close and at a distance, perceive colors, and possess good peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
Nice to have, but not a requirement:
- CDA Certification
- Associate Degree in early childhood education or a related field
