We're looking for a reliable and adaptable Substitute Teacher to fill in for our daycare classrooms when needed. As a key support staff, the ideal candidate will help maintain a secure, supportive, and engaging environment for young children, ensuring daily routines and activities run smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires supervising children, assisting with age-appropriate learning activities, supporting social and emotional development, and following established lesson plans and center policies. Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for early childhood care are essential.

What You'll Do
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Maintain daily classroom routines, schedules, and behavior expectations.
- Implement lesson plans and activities provided by the lead teacher or director.
- Engage children in age-appropriate educational, play, and creative activities.
- Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and nap time as needed.
- Monitor and support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.
- Communicate effectively with daycare staff regarding classroom needs or concerns.
- Follow all center policies, state regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
Requirements
- At least 2 credits or one noncredit, department-approved course in early childhood education before completing 240 cumulative hours of work as a substitute.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a lead teacher in a daycare.
- Associates degree or higher education.
