What You'll Do

As an Infant Care Specialist, you will:

 

  • Offer personalized care to infants and toddlers (8 weeks – 18 months), catering to their unique needs and fostering a sense of security and belonging.
  • Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth in individual and group settings.
  • Learn and apply a play-based, loose parts approach to support our philosophy and create a stimulating environment for infants to thrive.
  • Create a warm and safe environment where infants feel secure, loved, and valued.
  • Ensure a healthy and clean environment – adhering to high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety to protect our children.
  • Collaborate with families to ensure seamless transitions of care and celebrate significant milestones in a child's development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold best practices in early childhood education, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve outcomes.

Requirements

Our Infant Care Specialist must:


  • Be dependable and maintain a consistent schedule to provide stability and continuity for our children.
  • Embody a commitment to child development, best practices, and play-based learning, staying up-to-date with the latest research and methodologies.
  • Understand the complexities of infant development and responsive caregiving practices, recognizing the importance of empathy, patience, and sensitivity.
  • Be warm, nurturing, and patient, creating a sense of trust and security for our infants.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and families to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, which includes frequent walking, standing, and the ability to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Have the visual acuity to see up close and at a distance, with colors, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Develop and demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to ensure the well-being and success of our children and families.

  • Previous experience working with infants in a childcare, preschool, or nanny setting would be an asset to our team.
  • CDA (Infant/Toddler) certification or progress toward certification is preferred; however, we require a willingness to pursue ongoing professional development and growth.
