We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our team at the New Hope Early Learning Center, where we provide child-centered care, focus on Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP), and strive for excellence in early childhood education. Our center enrolls up to 60 children across four classrooms, with a strong emphasis on creating secure, thriving relationships between our teachers and children.
About the Job
In this role, you will support the lead teachers in delivering our curriculum and activities, building meaningful relationships with our children, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment. As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow with us, receiving guidance and mentorship in the classroom and pursuing a career in early learning.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with lead teachers to implement our child-centered learning philosophy and deliver high-quality educational experiences.
- Build strong relationships with each child by initiating and persisting in conversations, active play, and other engaging activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents in a clear, professional manner to keep them informed about their child's progress.
- Prepare and arrange classroom experiences, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Contribute to the overall well-being of our children by assisting with snacks, meals, and basic hygiene needs.
- Participate in in-service days, professional development, and training to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of our center.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be willing to undergo CPR and first aid training.
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must be willing to undergo a physical and TB test.

Desirable Qualifications
- We are particularly interested in candidates who have some degree progress in a CDA or Early Learning degree.
- Previous experience in a preschool teaching setting would be an asset.
