Toddler Teacher

What You'll Do

• Treat all children, parents, and staff with dignity and respect, and use positive discipline techniques to ensure their welfare, health and safety
• Engage in mealtime activities with the children and maintain open lines of communication with families
• Maintain a clean environment, classroom and playground by storing materials in a neat, orderly, and safe manner
• Supervise all classroom and outdoor activities, plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum/learning experiences, and maintain observations and assessments
• Record daily attendance and daily lunch counts in accordance with CACFP and center policy, and plan parent-teacher conferences
• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, attend workshops, conferences, and all in-service trainings to meet OEC requirements, and perform other duties as required
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum/learning experiences in line with the CT-ELDS and NAEYC Standards
• Use appropriate food handling, sanitation and OSHA procedures at all times, and greet and address each child by name
• Maintain records and perform administrative tasks as necessary

Requirements

• Minimum of a CDA with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field including 36 credits in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Nice to Have

Families of children with medical conditions require an Epi-pen and medication certification from the Lead Teacher, a First Aid and CPR certification is highly valued

We value First Aid and CPR certification and Medication and Epi-pen certification from our Lead Teacher
