About This Role
Based in Mountain Lakes, this support staff member opening at Mountain Lakes Country Day School pays $16 – $18/Hr and requires no formal early childhood credentials to start.
Mt. Lakes Country Day School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Full-Time Assistant Teacher to join our Prek classroom. You will be working alongside one other assistant to support a group of 24 children, aged 4-5 years old.
Schedule:
- Full-time hours: 9:00AM – 5:00 PM
- 5 days per week, based on availability

Responsibilities include participating in developmentally appropriate activities such as tabletop and floor play, reading, art projects, and more.

What You'll Do
- Support a calm and nurturing environment as children transition from structured activities to the afternoon routine
- Engage children in quiet, developmentally appropriate activities, such as reading, puzzles, art, or imaginative play
- Assist with snack time, including setup, cleanup, and helping children with basic needs
- Supervise indoor and outdoor free play, ensuring safety and encouraging positive social interactions
- Clean and organize the classroom at the end of the day, including sanitizing toys and wiping down surfaces
- Support a smooth and safe dismissal process, ensuring each child is signed out with the correct authorized adult
Requirements
You should have a genuine passion for working with young children. This full-time position is available 5 days per week, with hours from 9:00AM-5:00PM.

About Mountain Lakes Country Day School
Mountain Lakes Country Day School provides quality care for infants, ages 6 weeks to 18 months; toddlers, ages 18 to 36 months; preschoolers, ages 3 to 4 years, and kindergartners, ages 4 to 6 years. Classrooms are broken down by age group and activities are planned for small groups on the principles of developmentally appropriate practices using The Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies.Our center is open all year with limited closings for holidays and staff training.
