About This Role
Based in St. Louis, this support staff member opening at Mary Margaret Daycare and Learning Center pays $15 – $18/Hr and requires no formal early childhood credentials to start.
Mary Margaret's Daycare and Learning Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team in Affton/South County.
We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who can commit to a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm, with a rotating off day and a 30-minute break.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a cohesive teaching team, developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operations of the classroom. A strong understanding of child development and excellent communication skills are essential to create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment where children thrive.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curricula, creating engaging classroom activities that cater to developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Embody leadership by example, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages teaching team success through guidance and coaching.
- Design and execute age-appropriate activities that spark social, cognitive, and emotional growth, engaging children in a dynamic and supportive environment.
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring parents are informed and involved.
- Evaluate and maintain compliance with center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of care and education.
- Ensure a healthy and safe classroom environment, adhering to stringent hygiene, cleanliness, and safety protocols to safeguard the well-being of children.
Requirements
- Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for success.
- A strong understanding of child development is crucial.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment are vital.
- Willingness to take CFD 101, 102, & 103 (online through STLCC) or get your CDA (both are covered by TEACH Scholarship) if you do not already have one or the other.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in professional childcare, preferably with a minimum of two years, can be advantageous.
- Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid can be a valuable asset.
- A teaching certificate can demonstrate a higher level of qualification and commitment to the field.
