Based in Columbus, this support staff member opening at Mary Evans Child Development Center pays $18/Hr and requires the appropriate background.
The classroom is the hub of child development, and our ideal candidate will help foster an environment that is both nurturing and stimulating. This teacher will be responsible for managing daily classroom operations and collaborating with our teaching team to create lesson plans that cater to each child's unique needs. They will also ensure seamless communication with both children and adults to guarantee the safety, well-being, and success of our young learners.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive educational curriculum that aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, further enhancing our children's growth.
- By leading by example and providing coaching opportunities, this role empowers the teaching team to achieve success and maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Design and lead engaging individual and group activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our children, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Maintain regular and open communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring their needs are met and concerns addressed.
- Verify adherence to all center policies and state regulations.
- Create a healthy and organized classroom environment by maintaining hygiene, cleanliness standards, and the safety and security of our children.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to guarantee they follow planned activities, adhere to hygiene and safety standards.
- Accurately maintain records, forms, and files.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to continuously improve and enhance the quality of our educational services.
Requirements
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- A minimum of 30 Credits in ECE is preferred but an Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study is required.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
