About This Role
Based in Columbia, this support staff member opening at Kradles2Krayons Childcare Development Center pays $12/Hr and requires a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, though it is preferred rather than required.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curricula for infants (0-12 months) or toddlers (1-3 years), promoting a love of learning and exploration.
- Classroom Management:
- Effectively lead, supervise, and support assistant teachers and staff in day-to-day classroom operations, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Parent and Family Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and behavior, and offering guidance and support as needed.
- Child Safety & Well-being:
- Ensure the safety and health of children by adhering to all safety protocols, maintaining a secure environment, and providing age-appropriate care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood education, and mentor and support assistant teachers in their professional growth.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, milestones, and any special needs or concerns, and complete necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance and incident reports.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional childcare training or certification are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.
Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hiring).
Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of child development principles, particularly in infancy and toddlerhood.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families and a team.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
- Physical requirements include standing, bending, and the ability to lift children (up to 40 lbs).
Nice to Have
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or equivalent is preferred.
- CDA (Child Development Associate) certification is also preferred.
