This support staff member position at Koala-T-Kare in Madison offers $18 – $22/Hr. The role requires completed early childhood education (ECE) college credits.
The Teacher will oversee the development of a cohesive teaching team, manage the classroom curriculum, and handle day-to-day operational activities. Effective Teachers foster a stimulating and safe environment where children can thrive, driven by a deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Strong communication skills and a keen sense of interpersonal dynamics enable Teachers to successfully collaborate with children and adults, addressing parental concerns and guiding teacher assistants.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating engaging classroom activities grounded in developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example, encouraging team success through coaching and modeling.
- Design age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
- Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and conferences.
- E nsure adherence to all center policies and state regulations.
- Establish a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files in a timely manner.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in child care.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, along with basic computer skills.
- The ability to work with high energy and collaborate well with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a team environment.
- A thorough understanding of child development principles.
- Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Clearance of a full background check and passing a health screening.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field of study, with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
- The capacity to frequently take walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, and converse with and listen to voices at various levels. May also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
- Specific vision abilities will be required, including the ability to see close-up and up to a certain distance, perceive colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
