About This Role
KINDER-GARDEN LEARNING CENTER is hiring for a support staff member role in Meriden. Compensation is $16.94 – $17/Hr. Candidates need a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, though it is preferred rather than required.
We are looking for a Substitute Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on an on-call basis. This role requires a candidate who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to different classrooms and age groups, from infancy to preschool, and implement lesson plans that motivate students to learn and participate. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children under your care, and communicating effectively with staff and parents about daily activities and behavioral observations.

What You'll Do
- Create a positive and conducive learning environment that fosters academic growth and student engagement.
- Implement existing lesson plans in a way that meets the diverse needs of individual children, and motivates them to participate and learn.
- Perform classroom management duties, ensuring children are supervised at all times and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Communicate effectively with staff and parents about daily activities and behavioral observations, and provide regular updates on children's progress.
- Follow and uphold all safety and health regulations, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each child, and provide individualized support to promote their learning and development.
Requirements
- Must provide copies of all certifications, background checks, and medical statement upon application.
- Clean criminal background check.
- Current CT OEC required Adult Medical Statement signed by a healthcare provider.
- Up-to-Date Department of Children and Families (DCF) clearance.
- Ability to work flexibly across different age groups and settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Care 4 Kids Federal Health and Safety Orientation
Nice to Have
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus, as is previous experience in early childhood education.
