As a dedicated teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a high-quality learning experience, leading lesson planning, and ensuring compliance with Florida’s standards. This role offers a full-time schedule and the opportunity to work collaboratively with our team.

Schedule: 6:30-9:30 AM Monday - Friday (With flexibility)

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with Florida’s educational standards, tailored to meet the diverse needs of young children.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, daily schedules, and activities that foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Mentor and guide assistant teachers and aides in the classroom, providing guidance and support to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom, setting up developmentally appropriate learning centers to encourage exploration and learning.
  • Monitor and document each child’s growth and development, identifying milestones, learning needs, and providing targeted interventions to ensure every child thrives.
  • Regularly communicate with parents or guardians about their child’s progress, participating in parent-teacher conferences and addressing parent questions or concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, program requirements, and health and safety protocols, including CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Accurately maintain records of attendance, incident reports, developmental assessments, lesson plans, and other important documents.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training to stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with center leadership and teachers to contribute to overall program quality, supporting enrollment, retention, and center goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.
  • Minimum of 1 year in childcare, preferably in a toddler room.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a nurturing disposition.
  • Previous experience teaching preschool or VPK, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and Florida standards.
  • Florida’s teacher credential requirements, including VPK Certification or DCF 45-Hour training.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring, supervising staff.
  • Ability to move around the classroom frequently, assist with children, sit/kneel/squat.
  • Ability to lift and carry children or materials (up to regulatory limits).
  • Stand for extended periods, interact actively in play and learning.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with assessment tools, including observational assessments, screening, and progress tracking.
  • Bilingual skills, although not required, are a valuable asset in our diverse community.
