The Teacher Assistant is a supportive role that enables the Teachers and Director to provide a nurturing environment for children, enhancing their care and education. This individual must be adept at communication, collaboration, and teamwork to effectively support the staff in delivering a quality educational program. By observing and documenting children's progress, the Teacher Assistant fosters positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, and plays a key role in developing age-appropriate activities tailored to their interests and needs under the guidance of the Teacher and Director.

What You'll Do
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that cater to children's interests and needs, promoting their overall development and well-being.
- Take ownership of classroom maintenance, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and availability of materials, and manage activities to maintain a safe and stimulating environment.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports, keeping them informed about their child's development and interests.
- Model and encourage self-help and good hygiene practices, promoting positive behaviors and a sense of responsibility among the children.
- Contribute to a smooth transition from home to child care center by assisting with daily routines and activities.
- Uphold the center's policies and state regulations, ensuring compliance and maintaining a high standard of care and education.
- Develop a personal professional development plan to enhance skills and knowledge, driving continuous quality improvement and excellence in practice.
Requirements
- Must pass a full background check and clear a health screening.
- Hold Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Exhibit excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Display a strong understanding of child development principles.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well with others and demonstrate high energy.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
