We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative educator to join our early learning team as a STEM Teacher at Kids Academy of Learning & Excellence, powered by the CORE Foundation.

What You'll Do
- Create a warm, safe, and structured classroom environment, building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Collaborate with teaching staff on curriculum planning and continuous improvement, modeling CORE Foundation values, including inclusion, resilience, and service
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Document and assess student progress in alignment with school and state standards
- Participate in required professional development and KALE-sponsored training
- Use educational technology tools (robotics kits, coding platforms, introductory AI tools) to deliver engaging STE(AI)M™ instruction, including robotics, coding, and interactive technology
- Foster curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in the classroom
- Deliver engaging STE(AI)M™ instruction
- Build strong communication and professionalism skills to support teamwork and reliability
- Engage with children, families, and colleagues to create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must meet Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) requirements for licensed center lead teachers, including required coursework and training
- Must be 18 years or older
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. and actively support classroom/lab activities
- Completion of all VDOE-mandated trainings, including:
- Safe Sleep / SIDS Prevention
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Successful completion of criminal background checks, CPS checks, and sex offender registry checks
- Strong communication, professionalism, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Successful completion of VDOE-mandated trainings
Nice to Have
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities
- Experience working in diverse and inclusive classrooms
- Experience teaching STEM, robotics, coding, or AI in an educational setting
- Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
