What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities


  • Meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of children daily, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Implement policies and procedures to maintain a clean and secure classroom, adhering to NAEYC guidelines.
  • Design and lead activities that foster curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving skills, tailored to individual developmental levels and learning styles.
  • Supervise children during all activities and ensure their overall well-being.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom, adhering to NAEYC cleaning and sanitizing guidelines.
  • Complete Academy and classroom paperwork, including daily notes, accident reports, and attendance records.
  • Attend staff meetings, Academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, programs, and schedules to ensure a stimulating and engaging educational environment.
  • Create instructional aids and materials to support classroom activities.
  • Assist with mealtime and cleanup, ensuring a smooth and safe process.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain classroom and outdoor equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Lead and direct other staff in the classroom to maintain a well-organized and efficient environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, fostering a sense of community and family engagement.
  • Update the Family Information Board and other classroom bulletin boards to keep parents informed.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences throughout the year to discuss progress and address concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Possess the ability to lift at least 40 pounds to waist height consistently throughout the workday.

Additional Responsibilities


  • Be flexible and willing to accept temporary work assignments as needed.
  • Participate in planning and implementing Academy-wide events, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
  • Maintain open communication with prospective families, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Evaluate and assist in the development of personnel within the classroom, ensuring a cohesive and effective team.
  • Schedule field trips and speakers for monthly programs, as directed by management.
  • Prepare the classroom portion of the monthly newsletter, keeping parents informed and engaged.
  • Perform other duties as necessary, supporting the smooth operation of the classroom and Academy.

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Experience in Early Childhood Education within an Infant environment with at least 3 years working in a child care center
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with parents
  • Exemplary commitment to customer service and a natural love for babies

JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Must meet all state and local licensing requirements for position
  • Candidate must pass all state medical requirements and have a clear background check to qualify for employment
  • All employees must receive the required amount of training hours each calendar year per state licensing requirements

Nice to Have

  • CPR certified training
  • CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus!
  • Nursing experience
