The Teacher plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our young students, fostering a safe and stimulating environment that encourages growth and success. To achieve this, they must possess a deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, enabling them to create engaging and effective lesson plans. Effective communication with both children and adults is crucial, allowing them to address the unique needs of each child, guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns with empathy and professionalism.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team of teachers at Janesville's Montessori Children's House, LLC. We require both full and part-time teachers for ages 0-2. The ideal candidate will be willing to complete the DCF training books within the first 90 days of employment. Additionally, they must become CPR and First Aid certified, and a member of The Registry. While prior Montessori experience is not necessary, it is a plus. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We are willing to train a candidate who demonstrates a great fit for our center.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive educational curriculum that aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, incorporating activities that cater to individual and group needs.
- Model and coach the teaching team to ensure seamless collaboration and a culture of excellence.
- Design and execute engaging activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children, while fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
- Maintain open communication channels with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure adherence to center policies and state regulations, promoting a safe and healthy environment for all.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, forms, and files, demonstrating a commitment to administrative excellence.
- Develop a personal professional development plan to continually improve teaching practices and stay abreast of industry best practices.
Requirements
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
- Requires high energy and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents, fostering a positive team environment.
- Strong understanding of child development is essential.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification is mandatory.
- Must pass a full background check and health screening.
- Requirements include the ability to frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at various levels. May also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
- A specific vision ability is required, including the ability to see up close and at a certain distance, perceive colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.

Nice to Have
- Montessori training or experience is highly desirable.
- Center-based childcare experience is an asset.

- Registry Level 3 or higher is a highly valued credential.
