About This Role

Horizon Early Learning Program, LLC - DBA, Mulberry Bush and Vernon Village Early Learning Programs is hiring for a support staff member role in Brattleboro. Compensation is $41,600 – $50,000/Yr. Candidates need completed early childhood education (ECE) college credits.


Full Time Infant Teacher for 4 young infants at 5 STAR Child Care in Brattleboro

Horizon Early Learning Program is seeking to hire Lead Infant Teacher - 40 hours per week, Full Time, as one of our staff retire.

Start Date:  August 19, 2026

Lead Teacher is to lead the Classroom while implementing a rich and equitable learning environment where communication is key. She/he will be responsible for implementing lesson plans and quality care for every child in a developmentally appropriate manner, ensuring opportunities for creative growth while promoting all areas of developmentally appropriate practice including, but not limited to: social-emotional, cognitive, physical and speech/ language skills in a child-centered learning environment, while maintaining state child care licensing regulations.

  • Must be qualified as at least Teacher Associate or close to receiving this credential. 
  • Must have a positive attitude and be an active and cooperative team member

What You'll Do

Teacher or Teacher Associate will be responsible for implementing lesson plans and quality care for every child in a developmentally appropriate manner, ensuring opportunities for creative growth while promoting all areas of developmentally appropriate practice including, but not limited to: social-emotional, cognitive, physical and speech/ language skills in a child-centered learning environment, while maintaining state child care licensing regulations. A strong foundation in family partnerships, support, collaboration, communication and growth is a must. Must have a nurturing demeanor for these young infants.

Requirements

Teacher or Teacher Associate must be: At least 20 years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED and meets at least one of the following qualifications, along with at least 12 months of experience:

  • VT Career Ladder level 3 certificate
  • An Associate degree from an accredited college, majoring in Early Childhood Ed, or Human Development, or Elementary Education or Child and Family Services
  • A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program
  • A Child Care Certificate from the Community College of VT with 12 months experience
  • Successful completion of 21 college credits with an early childhood or school-age focus 

Teachers: anyone qualified with a teaching license or bachelor's degree and higher credentials are also welcome to apply!

  • Early Education experience.
  • High energy and ability to work outdoors in all climates.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (Can obtain once hired)
  • Must clear full background check.
