About This Role
Based in Liberty Hill, this support staff member opening at Hilltop Children's Center pays $16 – $19/Hr and requires a willingness to earn a CDA, with full program support provided.
Hilltop Children’s Center is looking for dedicated, warm, dependable, and professional preschool teachers to join our school family.We are a small, family-oriented early childhood program and a proud Texas Rising Star provider. We take pride in creating a high-quality social-emotional and educational environment for young children.
Experience is welcome, but not required. What matters most is maturity, reliability, kindness, willingness to learn, and a genuine respect for children.
This is not a babysitting position. Our teachers are expected to actively supervise, prepare the classroom, follow curriculum activities, support children’s social-emotional growth, communicate professionally with parents, and work as part of a team.
We are looking for individuals who truly understand that early childhood teachers are shaping the foundation for a child’s confidence, behavior, learning, and love of school.

What You'll Do
Preschool teachers at Hilltop are expected to:
- Actively supervise children at all times and ensure their safety
- Prepare and organize curriculum plans and classroom activities
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s needs and interests
- Lead children in indoor and outdoor play
- Support center time, art, crafts, music, movement, and hands-on learning
- Follow the daily schedule, including meals, snacks, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play
- Help with toilet training and diaper changing when needed
- Use positive guidance and Conscious Discipline strategies
- Create a warm, playful, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate professionally and warmly with parents
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and age-appropriate classroom
- Complete basic classroom cleaning and organization duties
- Record and monitor children’s daily activities
- Attend staff meetings and required training
- Follow Hilltop policies, Texas Child Care Licensing standards, and Texas Rising Star expectations
Requirements
Candidates must have:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass all required background checks
- Proficient spoken and written English
- Reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work scheduled hours between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- A sincere interest in working with young children
- Warm, friendly, and professional personality
- Ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of children and families
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in an emergency
- Willingness to follow Hilltop’s program goals, classroom expectations, and professional standards
- Dependability, initiative, and willingness to take feedback
Nice to Have
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in a licensed child care center or preschool setting
- CDA credential or willingness to pursue CDA, ECE certification, or an early childhood degree
- College coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Food Handler certification
- Bilingual ability; language does not have to be Spanish
- Familiarity with FrogStreet curriculum
- Familiarity with Conscious Discipline or willingness to learn
