Hetty's Brilliant Minds is hiring for a support staff member role in Latham. Compensation is $18 – $19/Hr. Candidates need a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, though it is preferred rather than required.
Hetty's Brilliant Minds is a Christian childcare center that offers innovative, year-round, before school, full-day and after school educational preschool as well as infant care, guided by the vision to provide a program that addresses the whole child. What You'll Do
Responsibilities
Infant and toddler teachers focus on fostering emotional intelligence, encouraging children to express themselves, communicate effectively, and develop social skills. They also facilitate activities that promote language and vocabulary growth, sparking children's curiosity and creativity.
Other key duties include:
- Overseeing assistant teachers and volunteers to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment
- Developing lesson plans aligned with our curriculum and tracking children's developmental progress
- Maintaining open lines of communication with parents to keep them informed about their child's progress
- Transforming the classroom into an engaging learning space that reflects the lessons being taught
- Designing and implementing curriculum that caters to the diverse needs and interests of our children
- Helping children develop positive self-esteem and a growth mindset, while encouraging them to explore their passions and interests
- Creating and managing schedules and routines that ensure physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Teaching children essential social skills, such as fairness and cooperation
- Conducting regular observations and assessments to document each child's health, skills, behavior, growth, and development, and identifying any potential concerns
- Collaborating with parents to address any concerns and optimize children's developmental, intellectual, and social achievements
- Providing guidance and leadership to other staff members and colleagues, while fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment
Requirements
Qualifications
- CDA in Infant/Toddler
- Must have 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting, particularly with toddlers (18 months to 38 months).
- Associate Degree preferred but not required.
- MAT, First aid and CPR Certificate
