About This Role
This support staff member position at Grow Your Mind Academy, Spring Hill in Lewisburg offers $12 – $15/Hr. The role requires completed early childhood education (ECE) college credits.
Support the classroom teacher in delivering daily activities, including hands-on exercises, crafts, and educational content, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children. This role involves working with a diverse age range from infants to PreK students, ensuring their safety, well-being, and supervision at all times. The childcare worker will be responsible for adhering to licensing rules and regulations, as well as providing support with curriculum implementation and mealtime supervision. Teamwork and effective communication skills are essential for creating a positive learning environment.

What You'll Do
- Encourage children's social and emotional growth by fostering empathy and self-awareness.
- Maintain a secure environment for children, ensuring their safety is the top priority.
- Regularly sanitize toys and play equipment to prevent the spread of germs.
- Implement strategies to manage behavior, offering alternatives such as dressing oneself and picking up toys.
- Recognize signs of emotional or developmental challenges in children and support their growth and development.
- Maintain an active presence in children's play activities, observing their behavior and offering guidance when necessary.
- Document individual children's progress, including daily observations, meal details, and medication administration.
- Teach children essential life skills, such as eating, resting, and personal hygiene habits.
- Engage children in reading, painting, drawing, handicrafts, and music activities.
- Organize and store toys and materials to maintain a clean and safe activity area.
- Prepare and sterilize bottles, as well as prepare formulas according to regulations.
- Assist with dressing and diaper changing tasks.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, dish washing, and linen changes.
- Ensure a safe play environment at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about daily activities, behavior, and related issues.
- Assist in food preparation and snack serving for children.
- Establish and manage rest periods for children.
- Supervise, train, and schedule staff as necessary.
Requirements
- Pass State mandated trainings via ProSolutions before starting work
- CPR certification
- Clearance to work physically
- Pass Tennessee Background and fingerprint checks
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Social Security number and valid Driver's License
- Ability to work flexible hours
Nice to Have
- CDA/TECTA certification, preferred
- Completion of Early Childhood courses or equivalent training
- Minimum 2 years of experience in childcare, a plus
