What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curricula based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, incorporating engaging activities for children.
- Set a positive example for the teaching team, empowering their success through coaching and mentorship.
- Design age-specific activities to foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children, ensuring active participation.
- Regularly communicate with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences to address concerns and promote collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring adherence to planned activities and safety standards.
- Accurately record, manage, and maintain files and records.
- Prioritize continuous quality improvement by maintaining a personal professional development plan.
Requirements
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
