About Us
Glenbrook Kids Child Care & Learning Center is a newly licensed Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) program serving children from birth to kindergarten. We strive to provide a nurturing, engaging, and supportive environment where children can grow and thrive.
Key Position Details
The Head Teacher is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring a safe, structured, and stimulating environment for our children. This position requires a leader who is able to manage a classroom effectively while maintaining strong relationships with our families and staff.

What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a curriculum that meets the unique needs of our children
- Supervise assistant teachers and support staff within the classroom, ensuring a safe and well-organized environment
- Lead and manage a classroom in compliance with CT OEC regulations, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere for our children and staff
- Maintain accurate classroom documentation and child records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our families through regular communication and updates
- Support and model professionalism, teamwork, and positive guidance strategies within the classroom and across our organization
- Support and collaborate with the Director and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to child care and education
- Participate in ongoing compliance efforts, including licensing visits and inspections, to ensure our program remains compliant and of high quality
- Develop and implement strategies to support the development and well-being of our children, including observation, assessment, and documentation of their progress and milestones
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
✔ CT OEC Head Teacher Certificate (Infant/Toddler - Preschool (3–5) Age Group)
✔ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or some credits in related field
✔ Registered with the CT OEC Workforce Registry
✔ Current CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain)
✔ Ability to pass background checks per OEC regulations
✔ Experience working in a licensed early childhood setting
