Future Leaders of Excellence Academy is hiring for a support staff member role in Goodlettsville. Compensation is $14.85 – $15.50/Hr. Candidates need a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, though it is preferred rather than required.

As a lead educator, you will be responsible for guiding daily classroom operations, setting expectations for learning and behavior, and ensuring instruction is developmentally appropriate for each child. You will support children’s growth across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas while maintaining strong communication with families and staff. What You'll Do
- Establish a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with early learning standards to support children’s learning and development
- Supervise and support assistant teachers to ensure consistent classroom practices and a cohesive learning environment
- Monitor and assess each child’s developmental progress and adjust instruction as needed to ensure individualized support
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment at all times, adhering to licensing regulations and center policies
- Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster a collaborative partnership
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety procedures, and center policies to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, observations, and incident reports, to track children’s progress and inform instruction
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay current with industry developments
Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment health screening as required under Tennessee Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Must successfully complete and maintain TDHS-required background checks, including fingerprinting and reference verification
- Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Must be willing to work toward early childhood certification if not already completed
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field accepted
- Child Development Associate credential, Technical Certificate, or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Ability to see and hear clearly, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to detect and respond to child cues and environmental sounds
- Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds as needed
- Ability to engage in active supervision, including frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting on the floor with children
- Ability to work full time in an active, fast-paced classroom environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults in a busy classroom environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be willing to work toward an early childhood certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field accepted
Nice to Have
- Ability to support diverse learning needs within a classroom setting
- Familiarity with early childhood curriculum planning and developmental tracking systems
- Experience communicating with families through structured updates or digital platforms
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare or early learning center
- Experience leading or mentoring assistant teachers or classroom teams
