Franconia Children's Center is hiring for a support staff member role in Franconia. Compensation is $16 – $20/Hr. Candidates need the appropriate background.
The Teacher is responsible for leading a cohesive teaching team, creating a stimulating classroom environment, and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand child development to ensure a safe and engaging space where children are encouraged to succeed. Effective communication with children and adults is essential to meeting child needs, guiding staff, and resolving parental concerns.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
- Model and coach the teaching team to success by leading by example.
- Plan age-appropriate activities to engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in individual and group settings.
- Maintain open communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and conferences.
- Ensure adherence to center policies and state regulations.
- Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensuring child safety and security.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, safety standards, and hygiene practices.
- Accurately maintain records, forms, and files.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment are essential.
- A strong understanding of child development is crucial.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification is required.
- Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE is required.
- Must be able to perform frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
