First Church Early Learning Center, a NAEYC accredited program since 1956, seeks a collaborative and adaptable teacher to join our team. As a Teacher at First Church Early Learning Center, you will be expected to have effective classroom management skills and maintain standards set by the Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC. Your daily interactions with parents will be critical to our program's success.
Hours for this position will vary between 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably working with young children. Knowledge of the Connecticut Preschool Assessment Framework (PAF) is required for this role.

What You'll Do
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to individual children's developmental needs and aligned with the Connecticut Preschool Assessment Framework (PAF).
Promote a safe and healthy classroom environment by enforcing hygiene, safety, and security standards.
Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences to foster a strong partnership.
Lead by example, demonstrating effective classroom management skills and encouraging teaching team success through coaching and mentoring.
Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records and files, including those required by the Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC.
Prioritize continuous quality improvement through personal professional development and adhere to First Church Early Learning Center's policies and state regulations.
Requirements
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (Will provide if not already certified)
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
Associate degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
A strong understanding of child development.

About First Church Early Learning Cetner
First Church Early Learning Center was established in 1956 and is NAEYC accredited. FCELC is comprised of 2 full day classrooms and a half day classroom, full day classrooms run 12 months a year and part day run during the school year only.
FCELC is looking for a positive, responsible, and adaptable individual to join our family. As a Lead Teacher at First Church Early Learning Center, this person would be expected to have effective classroom management, plan and implement an emergent curriculum, maintain Office of Early Childhood and NAEYC standards and communicate daily, as well as conferences 3 times per year and as needed, with parents.
Hours for this position may vary between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The necessary hours for this position would be based on the enrollment in the classroom(s) as well as the needs of the school.
The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years previous experience as a Lead Teacher working with children aged 3-5 years of age in an NAEYC accredited/OEC licensed program. This person would be knowledgeable in using The Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and would be required to use them as an assessment/observation tool (3x per year) for the children at First Church. This candidate would also be responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that focus on the individual developmental needs of the children we serve. Thie ideal candidate would also have experience managing classroom staff (teacher/assistant teacher)
Preference will be given to Early childhood professionals with:
A bachelor's degree in early childhood or a related field
or Associate degree in Early Childhood education
Fingerprinting and Background check required
CPR/First Aid/Medication Administration certificated preferred (training can be provided)
