What You'll Do
- Develop a cohesive teaching team, implement the curriculum, and manage daily classroom operations to ensure a productive and efficient learning environment.
- To create a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere that caters to children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, promoting their overall well-being and academic success.
- To communicate effectively with children and adults, address parental concerns, and provide guidance to teacher assistants to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
- Set the bar high by striving for excellence in all aspects of your work, reflecting the vision of Faith Family Church Early Learning Center's Lead Pastors and Director.
- Design and implement educational activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, bringing the curriculum to life in the classroom.
- Lead by example, motivating your teaching team through positive modeling and coaching, empowering them to excel.
- Plan engaging activities that cater to individual and group needs, fostering social, cognitive, and emotional growth in the children.
- Staying connected with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring open and effective communication.
- Maintain compliance with all center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of quality and care.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for the children, adhering to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards, and prioritizing their safety and security.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they follow established protocols and maintain a high level of quality in their work.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, files, and forms, ensuring seamless communication and record-keeping.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to continuously enhance your skills and contribute to the center's commitment to excellence.
- Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with basic computer skills.
- A high level of energy and the ability to work collaboratively with others (staff, children, and parents) to create a positive and inclusive team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development and its application in the classroom.
- Outstanding leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of success.
- Current certification in Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse prevention, and Communicable Disease training.
- Registration with OCCRRA for continuing professional development hours.
- Able to pass a full background check and meet health screening requirements.
- The ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, speak, and hear at various levels.
- May also require the ability to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
- A specific vision ability, including the ability to see up close and at a distance, perceive colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds comfortably.
Nice to Have
- An Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field of study, with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE; or
- A CDA (Child Development Associate) credential.
