Early Childhood DC - (2) Lead Teachers - Toddlers
About This Role
Based in Phoenix, this support staff member opening at Excellence Academies pays $17 – $19/Hr and requires no formal early childhood credentials to start.
The ideal candidate will serve as a cohesive member of the teaching team, coordinating curriculum and managing daily classroom operations. To ensure a safe and engaging environment, Teachers must be knowledgeable about children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Effective communication with both children and adults is crucial for meeting children's needs, guiding teacher assistants, and addressing parental concerns.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum by creating engaging activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative team environment through modeling and coaching.
- Create and implement individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
- Maintain open communication with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
- Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities and standards.
- Accurately maintain records, forms, and files.
- Develop a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Must possess an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- OR at least 48 semester credit hours, including 15 semester hours in early childhood education, early childhood development, or child and family studies
- AND at least two years of experience working with children in a licensed child development facility
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
- High energy and ability to work well with others and foster a team environment
- A strong understanding of child development
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
- Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening
- Must have Finger Print Clearance
Preference given to candidates with the following:
- Bilingual
- Experience of 2+ years in a classroom setting
Nice to Have
Experience working with young children in behavioral health settings is a plus.
