About This Role
Based in Vestal, this support staff member opening at Cub Care Children's Center pays $16 – $16.75/Hr and requires the appropriate background.
We're seeking a detail-oriented facility maintenance professional to join our team! As a member of our maintenance staff, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our program operates smoothly and safely, while maintaining a clean and well-maintained environment that meets OCFS regulations.
Flexible scheduling available! We're open to discussing a variety of shifts, including morning or afternoon starts. This part-time position requires a commitment of 12.5-15 hours per week, which can be combined with other Center positions if you're qualified. Inquire with the application for more information.
When can you start? We're looking for someone to begin in late August 2026 and continue through late June 2027.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the 2nd floor, including hallways, kitchen, restrooms, and classrooms, by adhering to our center's schedule.
- Prepare cleaning solutions for daily use in classrooms and the kitchen.
- Perform additional weekly or monthly tasks as assigned by the Site Director.
- Stay up-to-date on state of New York regulations regarding child care center operations and ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility.
- Participate in required training sessions to learn about cleaning materials and equipment.
- Meet with the Site Director as needed to review work assignments or changes in procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding facility operations, families, and staff members.
- Report any serious incidents or safety concerns to the Site Director promptly.
Requirements
- Prior facility maintenance/janitorial experience for at least 1 year.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have
Experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a child care setting, is highly desirable.
