This is a 40 hour a week, 41 weeks per year position.

What You'll Do
- Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
- Foster strong relationships with children and families by being approachable, responsive, and respectful.
- Welcome and engage families as active partners in their child's learning journey, providing opportunities for them to participate in the curriculum and develop meaningful relationships with their child.
- Design and implement engaging learning experiences that cater to the unique needs and interests of each child.
- Ensure the completion of critical teaching responsibilities, including developmental and behavioral screenings, ongoing observations, and assessments.
- Plan and execute daily classroom activities that balance teacher-initiated and child-led experiences, tailored to meet individual needs and interests.
- Make regular home visits and center visits to families, ensuring a strong partnership and mutual understanding.
Requirements
In the CAPHR Child Development program, a teacher should expect to:
- Be able to run after a child in peril.
- Nurture children who may need consoling in the case of challenging behaviors.
- Get on the ground with children in case of fire and help them crawl to safety.
- Sometimes get kicked or hit accidentally during exuberant play.
- Kneel to address children at eye level.
- Be able to lift children in emergencies.
- Be able to demonstrate motor activities that may include running, hopping, jumping, dancing, and full body motions.
