About This Role
Based in Manchester, this support staff member opening at Community Action Partnership Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties (CAPHR) pays $16.57 – $19.11/Hr and requires the appropriate background.
The cook plays a critical role in the daily operations of the food service activities for the child care center to which they are assigned. This position is a full-year position with a 35-hour workweek, covering 52 weeks per year.

What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks for assigned centers in accordance with approved menus and dietary requirements.
- Managing food deliveries, adhering to budget guidelines, and maintaining kitchen supplies.
- Shopping at grocery stores on an as-needed basis within budget constraints and collecting food from surplus delivery sites.
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, adhering to health and safety regulations, and following proper food safety procedures.
- Documenting food purchases, supplies, and menu production.
- Ensuring timely completion of tasks and adhering to standards for cleanliness and organization.
- Cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Requirements
The candidate will have a minimum of high school diploma or GED, and coursework or experience in quality food preparation, budgeting and purchasing.
Knowledge of basic cooking and kitchen procedures. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Six months to two years quality food service experience.
Valid New Hampshire drivers license, current adequate car insurance, proof of car insurance, and reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and lift/carry/move heavy items up to 50 pounds.
Ability to relate well to children and parents.
Ability to work without supervision & maintain records and reports.

Having strong communication skills and a sense of humor is a plus.
