Substitute Teacher

What You'll Do

• Support the Early Childhood Teacher in managing a classroom of toddler or preschool-age children, providing general supervision and direction.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert to their individual needs and concerns.
• Collaborate with the Early Childhood Teacher to plan and implement daily programs.
• Adhere to a consistent schedule, including group experiences, choice time, meals, and transitions between activities.
• Assist in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing materials and supplies.
• Participate in group and individual activities with children.
• Form a caring relationship with a primary group of children and their families.
• Treat all children, parents, and staff with dignity and respect.
• Encourage parental involvement in the classroom.
• Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the program.
• Complete administrative tasks, including time sheets, incident reports, and student records.
• Demonstrate initiative by assisting with general housekeeping tasks.
• Attend staff meetings and recommended training programs.
• Complete necessary training, including CPR, First Aid, and Universal Precautions.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Classroom Teacher and/or Director.

Requirements

Meets Colorado Department of Human Services Early Childhood Assistant Teacher qualifications as outlined in the Colorado Rules Regulating Childcare Centers

Experience working with pre-school and/or toddler age children.

Current Driver's License

Background Check

Nice to Have

• CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Early Childhood Coursework
• One or more years of experience in Early Childhood education
