About This Role
This support staff member position at Building Foundations Learning Academy, LLC in Austell offers $12 – $16/Hr. The role requires a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, though it is preferred rather than required.
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching fundamental skills to young students, including color and shape recognition, numbers and letters, personal hygiene, and social skills. They will also be expected to establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures, while adapting their teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs and interests. The successful candidate will provide a stimulating learning environment by offering various materials and resources for children to explore and engage with. Additionally, they will prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with established nutritional guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
- Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
- Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
- Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Teach proper eating habits and personal hygiene.
- Organize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills.
- Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
- Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
- Demonstrate activities to children.
- Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Reliable Transportation
- Willingness to undergo a background check
