Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH is hiring for a support staff member role in Lisbon. Compensation is $15.50 – $17/Hr. Candidates need completed early childhood education (ECE) college credits.

We're seeking a full-time staff member for our North Country Clubhouse, someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and committed to the well-being of our young members.

What You'll Do

Empowering Youth for Success

  • Develops a nurturing environment that fosters the growth and achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, responding to individual children's needs and interests, and encouraging exploration through positive guidance strategies.
  • Provides role modeling and guidance to Club members by planning and implementing curriculum tailored to meet their unique needs, incorporating elements of an emergent curriculum.
  • Ensures the health and safety of all members by establishing and maintaining program goals, overseeing the evaluation of Club programs, and tracking outcome metrics.
  • Uses child observation notes to inform curriculum planning, maintains accurate records, and continuously accounts for members in their assigned group by name and face.
  • Oversees the implementation of NAEYC standards, GSQ, Culture DNA code, and BGCCNNH and CCLU rules and policies regarding safety, compliance, and best practices.
  • Administers medications, provides first aid as needed, and communicates occurrences to families.
  • Ensures the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the classroom environment.

  • Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision

    • Maintains accurate record-keeping and weekly reporting, including activities and events conducted in the membership/finance system, providing data for input to a Center Director or other applicable staff.
    • Facilitates effective communication with families, staff, and children through verbal and written interactions.
    • Supervises classroom staff, students, and volunteers, providing regular feedback on job performance.
    • Supports volunteers, practicum students, and staff through modeling techniques and strategies that connect theory to practice.
    • May lead planning meetings with the teaching team and promote Club programs through daily schedule postings, social media announcements, and family emails.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be an associate teacher qualified before November 6, 2017, have a minimum of 9 credits in related coursework, or have a minimum of 1000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program, and knowledge of child growth and development obtained through one of the following: a. Completion of a high school level 2-year career and technical education course in teacher education; b. A 3-credit college course in child or human growth and development; c. Thirty hours of training in child growth and development, granted by an accredited college or university, an authorized provider of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, or obtained through documented life experience, including experience with the same age children.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Knowledge of current methods, principles, and techniques of teaching.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and application.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs; proven track record of creative and artistic teaching strategies.
  • Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior.
  • Ability to motivate members and manage behavior problems with patience.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, families, and community members in a variety of methods.
  • Must be willing to maintain the Club dress code, adapt to different learning styles, and obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications per Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements.
  • May be required to drive the Club van/short bus periodically.
  • Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of such record to either the Operations Director or human resources department.
  • Required to assist in cleaning and organizing the Club.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be willing to travel between locations when requested.
