We are seeking passionate educators to join our collaborative, mission-driven team at the Early Care and Education Center at Plymouth State University. What You'll Do

Foster Youth Growth and Development

  • Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages youth to explore, learn, and develop essential life skills.
  • Build strong relationships with youth, their families, and the university community, promoting a culture of trust, respect, and open communication.
  • Design and implement engaging curricula that cater to the diverse needs and interests of youth, utilizing innovative and evidence-based approaches to promote social-emotional learning and development.
  • Monitor and document youth progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their growth and development.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of youth, implementing policies and procedures that promote a safe and healthy environment.
  • Engage families in the educational process, maintaining open lines of communication and involving them in the development of youth learning plans.
  • Supervise and support college practicum students, interns, and volunteers, providing guidance and mentorship to help them achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs that promote youth development outcomes, aligning with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire's mission and values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver programs, services, and activities that meet the diverse needs of youth and families.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.


Program Leadership and Development

  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to the organization's mission, values, and standards.
  • Facilitate open communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and partners, promoting a culture of transparency and respect.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote program visibility, awareness, and engagement with the community.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, helping them to achieve their goals and develop their skills and expertise.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and trends in the field of early childhood education, applying this knowledge to inform program development and improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines that promote a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for youth and staff.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staying current with industry developments and best practices.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood, Pre-School Education, Youth Development, or Elementary Education with at least 6 credits in Early Childhood or Pre-School Education and 3 years of experience in teaching young children (B-5). Supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Pre-School Education, Youth Development, or Elementary Education with at least 6 credits in Early Childhood or Pre-School Education and 3-5 years of experience in teaching young children (B-5).
  • Knowledge and ability to implement current methods, principles, and techniques of ECE teaching, including constructivism, emergent curriculum, project work, and the Pyramid Model Framework.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and application.
  • Ability to form developmentally appropriate relationships with children and promote positive behavior.
  • Ability to motivate members and manage behavior problems with patience using positive guidance strategies and the Pyramid Model Framework.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, families, college students, and adult learners in a variety of methods.
  • Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Meet the needs, abilities, and interests of the children. Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and maintain children’s records, including for special education or early intervention.
  • Must be trained in supervision, coaching, and mentoring of adult learners.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications per Bureau of Childcare licensing requirements.
  • Must obtain a NH Credential within 6 months of start date.
  • Must obtain required NH health and safety trainings within 90 days from the hire date.
  • Must obtain full Pyramid Model e-Module training within one year of the start date.
  • May be required to drive the Club van/short bus periodically.
  • Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of such record to either the Operations Director or the Human Resources department.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be willing to travel between locations when requested. (Only occasional travel is required)
