Agape Center For Care is hiring for a support staff member role in Harrisonburg. Compensation is $13 – $20/Hr. Candidates need the appropriate background.
The ideal candidate will coordinate curriculum and oversee daily classroom operations, creating a safe and engaging environment that fosters children's growth and development. Effective communication with children and adults is crucial to meeting their needs, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving parental concerns. A skilled educator with strong leadership abilities is necessary to model and coach teaching teams to success.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating engaging classroom activities aligned with early learning standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Lead by example and foster a collaborative environment through effective coaching and mentoring.
- Design and implement age-appropriate activities to stimulate children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Regularly communicate with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure the center's policies and state regulations are met.
- Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensuring the safety and security of children.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to guarantee adherence to planned activities, safety, and hygiene protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, forms, and files.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance quality and improve performance.
Requirements
- Must possess an Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE and/or a minimum of 6 months of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
- High energy levels and the ability to work effectively with staff, children, and parents in a team-oriented environment.
- A thorough understanding of child development principles.
- Must undergo a full background check and pass a health screening.
- Physically able to perform tasks including frequent walking, hand and finger dexterity, object handling, and vocal communication at various levels. Additionally, the ability to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl may be required.
- Adequate vision, including the ability to see objects clearly at close and distant ranges, recognize colors, and possess peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Superior leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Possession of Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification is a desirable attribute.

Personal Time Off:
