Agape Center For Care is hiring for a support staff member role in Harrisonburg. Compensation is $11 – $19/Hr. Candidates need the appropriate background.
The Teacher Assistant plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing environment for children, working closely with Teachers and the Director to develop positive relationships with kids and their parents. Effective communication, active listening, and teamwork are essential skills for this position, which involves observing and documenting children's progress, and relaying that information back to parents and staff. Teacher Assistants are responsible for designing and implementing engaging activities that cater to children's interests and needs, under the guidance of the Teacher and Director.

What You'll Do
- Help foster a stimulating learning environment by assisting in the development and implementation of curricula activities.
- Take charge of maintaining a tidy and well-organized classroom, ensuring that all materials are readily available and in good condition.
- Keep parents informed about their child's progress through regular discussions and assessments.
- Model good hygiene practices and encourage children to do the same.
- Ensure a smooth transition for children arriving at and leaving the child care center each day.
- Adhere to all center policies and state regulations at all times.
- Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development to continually improve the quality of care provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Require high energy levels.
- Able to work collaboratively with others.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as basic computer proficiency.
- Have a basic understanding of child development principles.
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Pass a thorough background check and health screening.
Nice to Have
- Currently possess Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification; if not certified, the center will provide training as needed.
Benefits
Personal Time Off:
One year of service earns eight (8 hour) paid days off
Two to five years of service earns thirteen (8 hour) paid days off
Five+ years of service earns eighteen (8 hour) paid days off

After 60 days of employment, Agape Center for Care will pay half of the premium of an approved market health insurance plan for the staff member only.
