What You'll Do
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects A Joyful Noise's values and promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth in children.
- Implement strategies to guide positive behaviors and support the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of every child.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, staff, state licensing authorities, and community contacts to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
- Observe and record children's growth, development, and behavior to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
- Plan individual and group activities that actively engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic, and safe for children and staff.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a team environment and achieve shared goals.
- Assist with daily operational activities, including lesson planning and implementation.
Requirements
MMR Vaccination
Infant Safe Sleep & Mandated Reporter course
Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certified
Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test
Food Handlers' card
30 STARS hours childcare basics course
High School Diploma or equivalent
Cleared Background check through DCYF
Nice to Have
We are particularly interested in candidates with an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, as well as those with experience in childcare or knowledge of Early Achievers and ProCare Software. A strong understanding of child development and Washington Administrative Code (WAC) for childcare is also a plus.
