2nd Presbyterian Weekday School invites passionate and creative educators to join our team in our Toddler and 2s Classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year. Our educational approach emphasizes the development of strong relationships, supporting children's interests, and hands-on learning experiences.


We offer various teaching positions, including co-teaching, mentorship, and after-school roles. Our program operates from late August to May, following a traditional school calendar with breaks. Staff receive a continuous paycheck throughout the year. Available hours include Half Day (8:45–12:45) or Full Day (8:45–3:15).

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in collaboration with your co-teacher or mentor, grounded in best practices and early learning standards.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment by modeling and coaching teaching team members.
  • Craft engaging activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in individual and group settings.
  • Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress updates, parent-teacher conferences, and community events.
  • Ensure that the center adheres to all policies and state regulations.
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe classroom environment, maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and security standards.
  • Accurately maintain records, forms, and files.
  • Establish and work towards personal professional development goals to enhance teaching practices.

Requirements

  • Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
  • A specific vision ability is required, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • The ability to take frequent walks, carry and pick up a child, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels is necessary.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills are necessary.
  • An understanding of child development is essential.

Nice to Have

  • A minimum of two years of professional childcare experience is highly desirable.
  • An associate's degree in early childhood education or a related field of study, with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education, is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field of study is highly valued.
  • Salary will be commensurate with degree and experience.

Position Details:

The school year runs from August through May, following a traditional academic calendar.

This Half Day Co-Teacher position is Monday–Friday, approximately 20+ hours per week, with hours from 8:45 AM – 12:45 PM.
